For Kids

Navigate Adolescence is a volunteer-based organization, but our workshops are led by paid social workers, counselors, and youth workers. We encourage you to register promptly, as most programs sell out quickly!

  • K-3 Friendship Workshop: A half-day workshop that helps early elementary students learn how their actions impact other people. Emphasizes kindness, acceptance, and empathy, and explores problem areas in friendships, such as teasing, bossiness, and exclusion - all through small group instruction, crafts, and play. Registration details coming soon!
  • Chick Chat: A full-day workshop that provides girls the opportunity to spend time in small group breakouts working on self-development in sessions such as "Be Your Best Self," and tackling tricky friendship topics such as "Friends, Frenemies, and Fiascoes." The day also features the 45-minute Chick Chat Team-Building Challenge and a 45-minute yoga session. Each year the experience is different and geared specifically to the skill and learning abilities of fourth, fifth, and sixth grade girls. Most girls return for all three years to experience the full curriculum. Chick Chat 2018 was held in February; join our mailing list for details on registration next year!
  • HEROES: A full-day workshop with the goal to enhance fourth and fifth grade boys' social-emotional skills including self-awareness, managing emotions, problem solving, developing healthy relationship skills, becoming more empathic, and understanding power - all in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. Join our mailing list [link to join mailing list] for details on registration for our next session.
  • TREK Middle School Transition Workshop: An evening workshop for girls entering middle school. Features small group breakout sessions and a high school discussion panel that addresses topics such as shifting friendships, inclusion and exclusion, and explores the use, impact, and influence of social media. Join our mailing list for details on registration next fall.
  • Middle School Yoga: A monthly evening workshop that provides seventh and eighth grade girls a way to positively cope with stress, gain physical strength, and focus on personal growth via themed discussions following each hour-long yoga session. Yoga is currently sold out; join our mailing list for details on registration next year!

It's important to us that everyone be able to participate, and we subsidize Chick Chat, CORE, Yoga Club, and all of our programs, to keep them affordable. Scholarships also are available.
